Suspected PAG Leader Captured

Camp Naranjo, MisOC – A suspected Partisan Armed Group (PAG) leader was captured by the joint elements of TF “Lion” of the PNP-10 Regional Command based in this part of Northern Mindanao.

The Misamis Occidental PNP Provincial Office under P/SSupt Robert Quenery, PESE, together with the 10^th Regional PNP Public Safety Battalion, the 55^th Infantry Battalion of the 101^st Army BDE,1ID, the MisOC PNP Provincial Public Safety Company(PPSC) under P/CI Melfin Ian Burlat and the Provincial Intelligence and Investigation Division under P/Supt Wilbur M. Salaguste captures one (1) Francisco Daque y Garcia @ “Dondon”, 38 years old, married, and a resident of Isla Naburos, Baliangao this province in a special police operation, August 21 at 6:00AM at the same barangay.

Daque was arrested pursuant to the virtue of warrant of arrest from various criminal acts issued. Daque was the suspect of one MURDER Cases under CC No. 16389 and 16388 for Frustrated MURDER, issued by RTC Judge Porferio E. Mah, of the 9^th Judicial Region, Branch 9 in Dipolog City; HOMICIDE Criminal Case No. 265 and CC No. 36-126 of RTC 10^th Judicial Region, Branch 36 issued by Judge Primitivo S. Abarquez Jr of Calamba, Misamis Occidental, ARSON Case No. 16441 of RTC 9^th Judicial Region, Branch 6, issued by Judge Hipolito P. Bael Jr and THEFT CC No.2751-R.

The suspect was also arrested by virtue of MTCC, 9^th Judicial Region, issued by Judge Vittorio D. Dalman of Sibutad, Zamboanga Del Norte and cases of GRAVE COERCION AND GRAVE THREATS after he was tagged as the leader of an armed group that harassed and threatens more or less 121 families including women and children in Isla Naburos, Baliangao last May election 2010.

It may be recalled, the said election related violations, where in a Barangay Captain Alberto Garcia in an interview confirmed that a group of armed men believed to be the men of a political figure, came last January 28, 2010 and harassed and allegedly forced the people to sign a document for support of a political candidate and if they refuse they will be shot in the heads. The said Barangay Captain also identified that one of the armed group is his nephew, a certain Francisco Daque, a wanted person.

In the said police operations, One (1) M-16 Assault Rifle, SN 014397 with five (5) magazine loaded with ammos, one(1) cal. 30 Garand Rifle SN D28287-125A with ammos, One(1) cal. 45 colt pistol with fully loaded magazine, and one (1) unit of V-68 ICOM VHF Radio was also confiscated from the suspect PAG Leader.

Meanwhile, MisOC PNP Provincial Director P/SSupt Robert Quenery, PESE and PNP-10 Regional Director P/CSupt Condrado E. Laza PESE commended the men of Task Force LION for a job well done.

Task Force “LION” is a pet child of the PNP Regional Director as he takes over command of the PNP Regional Office 10 based in Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City from then RD P/CSupt Danilo Empedrad. TF “LION” under letter of instruction is to run after suspected armed groups, wanted persons, and other forms of criminality in the region.

"The long arm of the law finally caught up on him. We thank the community, particularly our peace loving citizens who have helped us in bringing DAQUE behind the bars of justice". P/SSupt Quenery said. "I urge those who may have been victimized by him and his group to come out and file appropriate complaints before our courts of justice" He added.
