Oroquieta City – With Australian Aid of P1-M thru the Innovation Support Fund-Land Administration and Management Project 2, the city Enhance Tax Revenue Assessment and Collection System (ETRACS) is now in progress.
Management Information System Office (MISO) Chief Rommel Gonzales said that with the project has two components, one is the ETRACS which is now in progress while the other one is the Geographic Information System (GIS) meant for faster Digital Cadastral Database is in abeyance unless the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources thru a memorandum of agreement will be sending information for the Lot Data Computation needed to start the implementation.
Last year 2009, With composition of government agencies like the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), the Registry of Deeds, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), with the support of the LGU’s for its implementation and the grant given by the Australian Aid program agreed to implement LAMP 2 component 5 program.
Said LAMP or otherwise known as the Land Administration and Management Project is to enhance and establish a mechanism to encourage Local government Units to initiate, implement, and institutionalized focused interventions and processes LAM reform and improvement of LAM services delivery.
Because of this government initiative, the Local Government Unit of Oroquieta City under the former administration of now Congressman Jorge Taghap Almonte of the 1st District of Misamis Occidental with the support of the Sanggunian Panlungsod adopted the said project for the benefit of people of Oroquieta and to fast track government transactions such as Tax collection efficiency, Real property assessment, business permit application and assessment and geographical information.
In the execution of an Executive Order and full support of the legislative thru SP Resolution 2009-07-462, said project is very beneficial to Oroquieta City. The said project started in the year 2009 and implemented by January 2010.
With its implementation, the Australian Aid thru DENR-ISF-LAMP 2 has given the city government equipments such as: one (1) HP DL360RO6 server worth P370-T, one (1) server rack worth P29, 500, two (2) units of HP ProBook440’s Laptops worth P104, 000 and four (4) units of HPCompaqDE5800 worth P208, 000 for its work stations.
Other technical support amenities from DENR will be given as part of the P1-M grant to make the Land Data Digitalization Program of the city possible for its constituents need.
Today, as it is now on progress and implemented, thru Administrative Order 225-09, City Administrator Engr. Arecio Casing Jr. is the focal person and with the MIS Office as it technical support staff.
City Mayor Jason P. Almonte, who now is the chief executive of the city, hopes that the other component, the Geographical Information System (GIS) will not be delayed in its implementation.
Said system is to fast track the city cadastral data base needed especially on the City Land Use Plan implementation. (With Mae P. Duque, MT News Network)
