Oroquieta City – Provincial Tourism Office Designate Gerald Ramiro is now prioritizing plans and projects to uplift the province tourism potentials to promote Misamis Occidental in the map of Philippine Tourism.
In an interview, Mr. Ramiro who has friends and connection are in the national capital region said, that with the designation by his mother Lady Governor Hermie Ramiro, his office now is preparing for a job that needs support not only by the provincial government but for all Misamisnons.
Mr. Ramiro before taking the responsibility added that with right connections he can sell the province thru tourism initiatives and well-planned program and projects.
“Yes it is true that I am new to this job, but with the help of the provincial government and the people of Misamis Occidental, surely our tourism destinations and potentials will be realized” He said.
With the last administration, the Misamis Occidental Aqua-Marine Park or otherwise known as MOAP was indeed problematic as the new administration seats in, however, it is water under the bridge and the provincial government is undergoing necessary plans and updates to make sure that MOAP will be settled in order to, again, help promote and continue the program to the betterment of its operation.
Mr. Ramiro farther said that with his office, first things first should be done; The Provincial Tourism Office will definitely organize the Provincial Tourism Council so it can help activate the tourism industry of the province and moves forward.
With its two congressional districts, Mr Ramiro pointed out that with the help of its representative amidst political affiliation, this will not a hindrance since we are working for the province upliftment, be it on tourism or not.
“Tapos na ang pulitika, this is the time to help one another to be part of a new Misamis Occidental”, He stressed.
The province of Misamis Occidental comprises with two congressional districts with cities of Ozamis, and Tangub and the municipalities of Don Victoriano, Bonifacio, Clarin, Tudela, Sinacaban for the Second District and the city of Oroquieta as the capital city with Jimenez, Panaon, Aloran, Lopez Jeana, Plaridel, Calamba, Baliangao, Sapang Dalaga, and Concepcion towns for the First District.
For tourism destinations, the Mt. Malindang Ranges is now a national park but there are still areas to be founded and rehabilitated for tourism potentials to include rivers, beaches, land parks, and other destinations.(With reports from Mae P. Eduque,MT News Network)
