MisOC PCL Elects Navarro as President

Provincial Farmers Training Center- Clarin’s Municipal Councilor Elsa F. Navarro prove her worth to seat in the provincial legislative power as the Philippine Councilor League Federation of the province representative after she won the election last August 9, 2010 for the presidency.

The new lady president of the PCL Misamis Occidental Chapter garnered sixty-one (61) votes’ twenty votes ahead from her nearest opponent, co-councilor Angelito Tagaloguin who only got 45 votes from the 165 registered city and municipal councilors who attended the federation election held at the Provincial Farmers Training Hall of the provincial capital.

Councilor Elsa F. Navarro, wife of Clarin Town Mayor David Navarro, is a 1st termer municipal councilor of the town who won after the may 10 automated Election. Under the Lakas-Kampi political party,

“I thank all city and municipal councilor who voted for me in this PCL Federated League of the province, being a neophyte; I will subscribe to all the PCL By-Laws and try to do my best leading the PCL to the betterment of this league and to my family, the Misamis Occidental PCL Federated League.” She said.

Oroquieta City PCL bet, City Councilor Henry Regalado Jr. landed third with 28 votes while another Clarin Councilor Mario Castro got 15 votes, and former Tangub City vice Mayor Edemar S. Alota got 14 votes out of the 165 registered and elected city and municipal councilors of Misamis Occidental.

The province comprises of two district with three cities namely; Oroquieta, Tangub and Ozamis while the municipalities are; 1st District- Jimenez, Pana-on. Aloran, Lopez Jeana, Plaridel, Calamba, Sapang Dalaga, Baliangao and Concepcion. For the 2nd district-Bonifacio, Don Victoriano, Clarin, Tudela, and Sinacaban.

During the program before the election of officer, Lady Governor Hermie M. Ramiro appeal to her councilors to make a mature decision in choosing their officers especially the PCL federated President who will seat in the province legislative office.

“Let us be one and forget politics, no color no, political inclinations, let us join hands for the benefit and growth of our province to achieved its progress and development and may the best ones win” the governor said.

Meanwhile, PCL National Treasurer Taguig City Councilor Ricky Jordan who represented the national office came to discuss the goals and vision of the Philippine Councilors League, as it is found in its PCL Creed, the 16,000 more or less Philippine councilors all over the country group into one league to promote not only camaraderie but enhancing the members capability in developing its parliamentary skills and to be benefitted from the organizations hospitalization benefits, death, professional assistance, family assistance, business concerns and others who in way or another can help and support every member after their term or in their term of service as city or municipal councilors.

In the said federated election, Interim President Filoteo Alngohuro of Tangub City who opened its regular session welcomes all the delegates from the municipalities and the three cities.

” This is very memorable to each and every one of us, I hope that with our decision to elect our new president to led us ion all PCL endeavors, we can stand and achieved what we are here for” he said.

Other guest who witness the PCL elections were, Ozamis City Mayor Nova Parojinog-Echavez, Clarin mayor David Navarro, Sapang Dalaga mayor Don-don Animas, Pana-on mayor Merriam Paylaga.

Other PCL MisOC Federated Chapter Officers elected were: PCL-VP-Councilor Benjamin Galindo, PCL Sec-Gen-Kimberly A.D. Bulatid, PCL Treasurer-Florepes Cepe, PCL Auditor-Rosena Maniwan, PCL Public Relations Officer- Paulito Galleros, PCL Business manager-Elsie M. Llanes, and the eight(8) PCL Board of Directors- elected were: Councilor Jorge Quiza, Genaro Jalapit, Irene Embuscado, Simplicia “Bebi” Neri, Prince gaulit, Jovito Daabay, Michael Guiterez, and Edilberto Gripo.
