City PNP Starts Anti-Vice campaign

Oroquieta City – Police Superintendent Paciano A. Deloso (DSC), OCPO chief of Police in charge started its campaign against vices that had been reported now rampant in the locality, prostitutions, gambling, drunkenness, drug proliferations and trafficking, motor-napping and other petty crimes that makes Oroquieta City a liar of criminals.


With the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Vice chairman on the committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety, Hon. Joel Fernandez had joint efforts to fight against vices to include the violation of the Tobacco Act in public places.


Night entertainment places and hubs are the target of the anti-vice campaign which the younger generations now a day frequents.


“We have to start now, if we want to achieved peace and order, crimes as we observed, the younger generations of today had been affected with this menace of our society and responsibilities of parents had been neglected, this administration is not hesitant to implement the laws of our country and ordinances of the city government” Fernandez said.


Every Friday evening up to the Sundays, the local police conduct visual inspection to the night hubs and entertainment places to include internet cafes and other strategic areas of concern to fight and strengthen the anti-vices campaign.


The said campaign is also adopted to thwart any terroristic activities and becomes a deterrent factor to commit crimes by persons engaged in illegal activities, and eventually prevent criminality, petty crimes or syndicated crimes.


“When I take over as the OIC-COP, I have committed my command to help and support the mandate of our City Mayor to clean and be free from any criminality the city of Oroquieta, This is huge responsibility and risky commitment of any police authority, but with the support of our concern citizens, other city and national government agencies and the Oroquietanons themselves, We hope for a clean and progressive city” P/Supt Deloso said.


Meanwhile, SP member Joel Fernandez who had been a barangay councilor active in the pursuit of law and order in his own barangay Canubay planned to pass an ordinance organizing an inter-agency anti-vice group that well handle crime prevention and conducts routinary inspection on every establishment and areas known to become hot spots in order to have a deterrent effect in fighting against criminality.


Fernandez farther said that with the organization of the inter-agency anti-vice group, the city’s law and order will definitely prevail and will stop crimes every day.
