As it celebrates the City Fiesta in honor of the Lady of the Holy Rosary” Viva Nuestra Santo Rosario” on the second week of October, the city government of Oroquieta is searching for the most beautiful lady to be name and become an ambassadress of goodwill, Ms. Oroquieta City Tourism 2010 as part of the celebrations.
Honorable City Councilor Ruvy “Alay” Ala who heads the steering committee of the celebration together with the City Tourism Office under Mr. Jay Lorenzo, Tourism Designate and Mr. Gilbert Roa is now busy accepting candidates and sponsors.
In the criteria and guidelines, candidates must be a resident of Oroquieta, or at least residing for the past 6 months, presently enrolled at any school in the city, or a pure blooded Oroquietanons whose parent is now living outside of Oroquieta is qualified to be a candidate.
The candidate must stand at least 5 feet tall with good posture and pleasing personality, she must be 14 -21 years old, single and unmarried or haven’t borne a child out of wedlock and be in good moral character.
To become Ms. Oroquieta City Tourism 2010, each qualified candidate must pass and be graded by the Board of Judges according to her god given talent, which 40% real, 25% performance or mastery,25% stage presence, and has an entertainment value of 10%.
The candidate will be given a chance to be exposed on stage in the Production Number, Casual and Swimwear competition and Long Gown competition, which this time, the Board of judges will rate them 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest points.
In the Best in production category each candidate will be rated and given points according to their mastery, gracefulness and stage projection. In Best in Casual Wear, they will be rated based on their attire as to match it with poise and carriage and general beauty as a whole.
In the Best in Swim Wear competition, each candidate will be rated from 1 to 10 based on their body contour, balanced complexion, and the swimwear attire in their execution and projection.
In the Best in Long Gown category again the candidates will be given 1 to 10 points, whose gown bearing will math with their poise and carriage and general beauty wearing a long gown.
On the elimination round, Five beautiful candidates will be chosen from the rest to make it to the finals, beauty and face-3 points, body proportion and poise-2 points, stage projection-2points and wit and intelligence-3 points with a total score of 10 points to be one of the five finalist.
Miss Oroquieta City Tourism 2010 is not only beauty but brains to become the ambassadress of goodwill of the city and for one year she will reign as the most beautiful woman of Oroquieta City.
In the final round and with the question and answer portion to be crowned as Miss Oroquieta City Tourism 2010, the five finalist will be rated according to their ability with wit and intelligence-5 points, general beauty (face and figure)-3 points and Stage projection-2 points again with a total of 10 points, the 2010 Miss Oroquieta City Tourism will be declared and adjudge the reigning queen.
