City Police implements R.A 4136

Oroquieta City- With strict implementation of Republic Act 4136 or otherwise known as the Traffic Code of the Philippines to stop traffic accidents and other violations, the City PNP now under OIC-City Director P/Supt Paciano A. Deloso apprehended 26 traffic violators on its first day of implementation.

R.A. 4136 or the Traffic Code of the Philippines is the law governing traffic regulation in the whole country however, there local ordinance in consonant to the said act is now implemented with areas of responsibility by local authorities.

This made the local police organization in coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the City PNP now conducted mobile checkpoint to apprehend violators. As guide of the implementation, the No Permit, No Travel policy is now activated in the heart of Oroquieta City.

With the latest report from the City Police Office, P/Supt Deloso said that with the first day of implementation his traffic officer together with the Oroquieta City Traffic Management Bureau (OCTMB) apprehended 26 traffic violators and on the second day it apprehended another 28 persons violating such policy.

Apprehended person and traffic violators was meted and penalized according to the city local ordinance, hence, they were warned a week ago that the police will implement such laws and ordinance.

But, they forget it accordingly, this prompted the police and OCTMB to pursue the implementation and started to issue TOP’s or the Temporary Operator’s Permit and penalized according to each violations.

The apprehended violators were charge with violations such as “No Helmet while driving their motorcycles, No early warning devices, Driving without licenses, and failure to bring along or carry with them O.R.’s/C.R.’s and other traffic violations.

In his part, P/Supt Deloso said that , the police is here to address the problem on the violations of R.A. 4136 in coordination with the Land Transportation Office and have a deterrent effects to other crimes such theft motorcycles, and other street crimes that motorcycles are used as gate-away vehicles.

Meanwhile, the City Government who wants a peaceful city adhere to its implementation and advocates its full campaign against violators, not be harse on them but to stop traffic accidents and stop criminalities.

“My administration does not condone to police abusive attitudes in dealing with traffic violators or otherwise known as “kotong-cops” but the implementation of the Law and local ordinances will surely help in fighting crimes and other criminalities, City Mayor Jason Almonte said.

  1. sa R.A. 4136 din ba kabilang ang "bora-bora" or using an open pipe muffler to a motorcycle?
