2nd WM Media Summit slated on July 17-19 2010

Zamboanga City- The 2^nd Western Mindanao Media Summit slated on July 17-19, 2010 will be held at the La Vista del Mar Resort in this southern city.

Media practitioners’ all over Western Mindanao region are invited to tackle issue concerning responsible media undertakings.

The theme of this year's regional conference is "Mindanao 2020: Moving Forward."

There will be three general topics for the conference: 1) Assessment on how we covered the elections; 2) the prospects for peace; 3) safety of journalists including updates of the Ampatuan massacre, Freedom of Information and other industry concerns.

This regional media summit transpired to be done in every region after the participants of the 5^th Mindanao Media Summit held at Cagayan de Oro decided to make it in the five regions of Mindanao; Western Mindanao Region, Northern Mindanao Region, Caraga Region, Central Mindanao and Southern Mindanao to include ARMM region.

In its vision Mindanao must be moving, thus all media practitioner should to attain peace and development and to campaign against impunity and extra judicial killings of media people not only in Mindanao but to the whole country.
