Oroquieta host region’s DOLE-PESO MYPA

Oroquieta City – This year’ DOLE-PESO Mid-year Planning and Assessment (MYPA) for Northern Mindanao was hosted by the local government under the leadership of City Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte in cooperation with the Provincial Government at Tatong’s beach Resort in San Vicente Alto, this city.


Opened with warmth and entertained program, participants especially PESO (Public Employment Service Office) Managers of the region was greeted and welcomed by the City Mayor thru his representative Information Officer Larry Enerio.


In his message, The City of Good Life whose tranquility and peaceful environment caters the participant needs to a workable and successful gathering to meet the challenges to sustain and extend more job opportunities’ for the region’s unemployed benefits.


Enerio, in behalf of the City Mayor further said that, The city is the best place to have their easy assessment and action planning more progressive towards this year’s theme” PESO Bringing people to better future”.


Meanwhile, Provincial administrator Danilo Rubio who represents Governor Hermie Ramiro of Misamis Occidental share views that employment is a hard task to government sector but with the Department of Labor and Employment has done thru its Public Employment Service Office in cooperation with Local Government Units; employment becomes easier to those who seek jobs and the unemployed.


Rubio farther shared that the province alone has undergone difficulty in accepting job seekers especially after the May 10 election wherein the new administration met this problem because of budgetary considerations. “But with the help of PESO managers of our province little by little together with the help of the private sectors, Misamis Occidental can help those who are in need” He said.


The Midyear Assessment of the DOLE-Public Employment Service Office will be tackling issues and concern regarding the manager’s enthusiasm towards positive attitude as helping hands of the government easing employment problems.


With the unwavering support of every PESO managers whose enormous task of finding solutions and seeking job opportunities, they are not only as helper but also serve as councilor mentors of employees’ responsibility.


With the departments mandate and the Republic Act 8752 or the PESO ACT for the past 10 years, of the 105 PESO Offices in Region 10 only 6 are institutionalized, meaning PESO offices with their own plantilla and budget to work with.

“This we challenge our local government unit to help us in sustaining this PESO Offices in their corresponding areas of responsibilities to have it institutionalized in their respective government” said Local Employment Officer Digs Deloso who represents Regional Director Allan Macaraya of DOLE Region 10.


Said MYPA (Midyear PESO Assessment and Action Planning ) is to evaluate its accomplishment from July 21-23, 2010 as it was welcomed not only by words but with the Special Entertainment made thru the courtesy of the students from the Special School of the Arts of the Misamis Occidental National High School.(PJames Tremedal/BND MisOC-CIB/OCM)
