New COP to strengthen police against Illegality

Oroquieta City – Pursuant to SO Nr 126 dated July 26, 2010 of the Misamis Occidental PNP Provincial Office under P/SSUPT Robert Guzman Quenery, Provincial Police Director the City of Good Life has a new OIC City Police Director.

P/SUPT Paciano Anadia Deloso, (DSC) a PNPA Class 90 is an experience police officer, after he finished his BS Criminology in the University of Bohol he applied for a police work in Cebu City and join the force until he went to the Philippine National Police Academy to finish a professional Police Degree and graduated as a young police lieutenant.

As a young police officer he was assigned in Region 10 as a junior officer and joins the defunct PNP Field Force until he was promoted to Police Captain. P/SUPT Deloso was also assigned in different police high ranking position in Northern Mindanao Region as Highway Patrol Group Commander, Deputy Police Chief for Operations in PNP Regional Office 10, and Road and Traffic Administration (RTA) in the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and been also assigned to police sub-stations of the COCPO as Station Commander in 1997-2007.

With an ambition to professional his police records he continued his studies as an police officer with this he become a Police Adviser to the United Nations in 2005-2007 after which he came to the Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office to act as the Chief for Police Community Relations (PCR) and become also the Deputy PPO for Operations for a year and eight months before he takes over the Oroquieta City Police Office from P/SUPT Herbert Roces Olavides who is now assigned to Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.

In an interview with this journalist, P/Supt plan and programmed to strengthen his new police command to ensure public safety and prevent crimes and other problems in regards to the peace and order condition of the City of Good Life.

He said that his first priority is to focus and intensify police campaign against illegal proliferation of drugs use and to enforce R.A. 9165 or the Dangerous Drug Act as amended. Secondly, the new COP wants to maximize police visibility action in all strategic areas in the city and its 47 barangays.

Oroquieta as a growing city with its infrastructure development projects, police visibility is now more needed to augment other government programs to support its peace and order effort and to help solve criminality, even its lacks police force.

P/Supt Deloso said that as he takes over, his police force is very small if you compare it to the standard police ratio of 1: 500 populace, the city has more than 50,000 populations, as he takes over OCPO it has only effective 28 policemen, “of the 38 PNP members assigned with OCPO some them are retire-able and some are detailed to government executives.” He said.

P/Supt Deloso added that another priority he wants to emphasized is to clean first his ranks for the saying goes; “If you want to clean your surroundings, clean first your house”.

The New Chief of Police of the city wants an effective and responsible police force to help and support the city government under City Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte on its peace and order campaign to the betterment of the constituency of Oroquieta and its 47 Barangays.(with reports from PJTremedal, BNDMisOC-CIB/OCM)
