For a New Misamis Occidental ALMONTE, RAMIRO, et.al. Takes Oath

Oroquieta City – Congressman-elect Jorge Taghap Almonte, Governor-elect Herminia Ramiro and City Mayor –elect Jason Paredes Almonte takes their oath this July 1, together with other Mayors, Vice Mayors and members of the legislative department at the Farmers Training Center of Misamis Occidental at the capitol site.

Said oath taking ceremony started with a mass officiated by Oroquieta City Parish Priest Daplin and seeks guidance with the highest for transparent and good governance for the new elected officials of Misamis Occidental and the City of Good Life.

As the province first elected lady governor, Ramiro who served the second district as congresswoman promised to perform her duty with a cause that will bring economic reforms in the whole province.

“With your support and relentless, together we will bring progress and development in this province of Northern Mindanao, with transparency and good governance Misamis Occidental will become the economic tiger of this region” She said.

It may be recalled that during her incumbency as the representative of the second district, Ramiro poured billions of project not only in infrastructure programs but to health programs as well. Governor Ramiro is the wife of the late Health Secretary Hilarion Ramiro.

Meanwhile, City Mayor-elect Jason Paredes Almonte thanks the constituent of their overwhelming support and help in the last May 10 election that made history in the political parchment of the city. The result yielded a 12-0 slate, the first in Oroquieta political history.

As a dreamer, he made emphasis in continuing his father’s legacy but to add new management in the course of good and transparent governance in running the affairs of the city government. He also dreamed that one day the city will be in the map of the tourism industry of the country.

City Mayor–elect Almonte further said that, with modern technology adaptation to run his government, Oroquieta is not far behind from other cities in its computerization and adopt an e-governance as the call of development.

During his councilor days, Almonte had made the city into a Wi-Fi zone and a click away from the world thru the internet. With his father J.O.R.G.E program, Oroquieta will be connected not only in Northern Mindanao region but to the whole country as well.

Tourism, Agriculture, Health, Education, Livelihood and Jobs opportunity will be his focus in his three year term and with the support and help form all Oroquietanons, this dream will become a reality.

As the oath taking ceremony ended, Congressman-elect Jorge Taghap Almonte promised to bring the peoples cries and voices to the halls of congress, as their new representative. Congressman Almonte further said that in his term education is his utmost concern and establish a state university to cater the needs of the first district because he believes that education is the solution to everything. Almonte added, that, local officials especially the barangays will be benefited, especially their children to be educated.

Congressman Almonte who had signed the coalition for peace and development in congress will surely bring new hopes, new dreams and eventually bring peace and development to the eight municipalities and the City of Good Life to become the regions power house.(with reports from Mae P.
