Ms. Oroquieta-Tourism 2010 presents Lucky 13

Thirteen lucky young and beautiful ladies vie for this year’s Miss Oroquieta-Tourism 2010 to be crowned on October 11 in the final Pageant Night at the ABC Gym here.

The Lucky 13 are; Candidate No. 1 is Miss Mary Grace D. Montalban sponsored by the DepED-District IV, Candidate No. 2 is Miss Hanzie Lou Salazar sponsored by the Aurora Integrated Multi-purpose Cooperative, Candidate No. 3 is Miss Diana M. Morales sponsored by DepED-District II, Candidate No. 4 is Miss Nadia Rose Damas sponsored by DepED-District I, Candidate No. 5 is Miss Jocy Fritz S. Lim sponsored by the DepED-District III, Candidate No. 6 is Miss Kathleen Tumale sponsored by Mindanao University of Science and Technology, Candidate No. 7 is Miss Daphne P. Uy sponsored by the Oroquieta City public Market Federation of Small Business Club, Inc. Candidate no. 8 is Miss Mhel-Jorie S. Duhaylungsod sponsored by the Unified Public High School, Candidate No. 9 is Miss Ma. Victoria M. Bugas sponsored by the Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School, Candidate No. 10 is Miss Kristine Manon-og sponsored by the Sangguniang Kabataan, Candidate No. 11 is Miss Fareena Baili sponsored by the C-LAN Institute of Technology Diversifying to PIMSSAT Coastal Colleges, Candidate No. 12 is Miss Kimberly Udal sponsored by the Association of Barangay Council and Candidate No. 13 is Miss Lani S. Saludsod (Unluckily she missed the pictorials)sponsored by the Oroquieta City Employees Government Association. The thirteen lucky ladies will compete in the final pageant to become the next Ms. Oroquieta-Tourism 2010 and will become the city’s Ambassadress of Goodwill.

Last October 7 the Talent Competition was held and three ladies were adjudge Ms. Talents and a minor award given by Coke Light was also awarded. Ms. Daphne Uy candidate No. 7 was the lucky lady of the evening when she was chosen as the Ms. Talent and win a cash prize of three Thousand pesos, A Trophy and Bouquet.

The 1st runner-up was Ms. Kathleen Tumale who received a cash prize of 2,000 pesos and a bouquet of flowers, while candidate no. 8, Miss Mhel-Jorie S. Duhaylungsod was awarded as 2nd runner-up and received a cash prize of 1,500 pesos and a bouquet of flowers, but fortunately awarded as Ms. Coke Light.

During the Talent Competition, the five prestigious judges were: Mr. Ricky Calisic, Mr. Fernan Lanzaderas, Mr. Dexter Delagan, and Ms. Sherlyn Pahayahay and the chairman was Mr. Roberto Becoy Gonzales. Winners were declared according to the criteria of 40 % reality, 25% personality, 25% stage performance, and 10% audience impact with a total score of 100%.

Hon. Ruvy “Alay Ala, Chair of the SP Committee on Tourism welcome the nights audience as she made emphasis on the respect to women as they symbolized the image of the city’s patron saint, The Lady of the Holy Rosary.

Meanwhile, City Mayor Jason P. Almonte together with Mrs. Aurora Virginia m. Almonte, the wife of Congressman Jorge T. Almonte who herself was the adviser-chair of the beauty pageant, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Harry Guantero other guest and the oroquietanons enjoy the evening.

The city celebration of the feast of the Lady of the Holy Rosary is also brought to the Oroquietanons by San Miguel Corporation, Biano’s Pizza, RMA Cable TV, City Mayor Jason P. Almonte, Congressman Jorge T. Almonte of the 1st District, Misamis Occidental, Sangguniang Panlungsod, Natures Spring, SMART Telecommunications, Grace Hardware, Misamis Cable TV and other minor sponsors.
