Oroquieta City – Seventeen young and beautiful ladies from the 14 towns and three cities of Misamis Occidental is now in full swing of their rehearsal for the upcoming search of the Mutia ng Misamis Occidental.
The seventeen candidates are chosen by the pageant committee from their looks, poise and intelligence to become the ambassadress of goodwill of the province. The search for Mutia ng Misamis Occidental is one of the major activites of the first ever Pas’ungko S’g MisOCC Festival for the 81st Founding Anniversary of Misamis Occidental.
The seventeen (to become intriguing and with excitement who will be crowned this year’s Mutia the committee chooses to name them were they represents, they are chosen to name their towns and cities) and they are: for the 1st District, Ms. Oroquieta City, Miss Jimenez, Miss Aloran, Miss Pana-on, Miss Baliangao, Miss Sapang Dalaga, Miss Lopez Jeana, Miss Plaridel, Miss Calamba and Miss Concepcion.
For the 2nd District of the province are: Miss Ozamis City, Miss Tangub City, Miss Sinacaban, Miss Tudela, Miss Don Victoriano, Miss Clarin, and Miss Bonifacio. With the help and support of the league of Municipalities of Misamis Occidental and their respective Tourism Councils and Tourism Officer, the search for the Mutia ng Misamis Occidental will be successful.
In the criteria; Mutia ng Misamis occidental will be judge according to her residency, at least 5 feet tall, 18-25 years of age, with good posture, pleasing personality and of good moral character, and most of all must be single and haven’t borne a child.
The Mutia ng Misamis Occidental will be in two parts, First will be the Talent Competition that will be held on November 4 at the Provincial Farmers Cultural Training with the following criteria for judging who will be declared Miss Talent; Reality of Talent-40%, Performance/mastery-30%,Deportment/Stage presence-20% and Entertainment Value-10%.
During the final night, three major exposures of the candidates will be judge accordingly; Production Number, Casual Attire, Swimwear, and Long Gown which each candidate will be rated 1 – 10 to be judge best in Production Number, best in Swimwear, best in Casual Attire and best in Long Gown competition.
In the elimination round, five candidates will be chosen according to Beauty of Face-3 pts., Body Proportion and Poise-2 pts., Stage Projection-2 pts., and Wit/Intelligence-3 pts., with a total of ten (10) points) and after the Question and Answer portion they final five will be judge again according to her Wit/Intelligence-5 pts., General Beauty-3 pts., and Stage Projection-2pts. ,with a total points of ten (10) to be crowned as the 2010 Mutia ng Misamis Occidental. Cash and trophies await the winners.
In related development, the 1st Pas’ungko S’G MisOCC Festival will also chose its Queen of the Festival during the festivities to be held on November 7 at 4p.m. at the provincial Capitol Grounds.
The festival queen will be judge according to her Beauty of Face-30%, Dance/Grace and Rhytm-30%, Focus and Projection-25% and Costume-15%. The winner will receive 5-T with trophy/sash and bouquet, while the second runner-up will receive 4-T with trophy/sash and bouquet and the third runner-up will receive 3-T with trophy/sash and bouquet.
The Pas’ungko Sig MisOCC will be Subanen based in form and style. This will help promote Misamis Occidental history and people, which the Provincial Tourism Council has always, project as One People, Own Province, One Destination.
1st Pas’ungko S’g MisOCC Festival is another project of the Ramiro administration thru her agenda GO HERMIE.
