Oroquieta City, MisOC – Four (4) robbery suspects are now under inquest proceedings while there run away vehicle is impounded with the Oroquieta City Police Office under P/Supt Herbert Roces Olavidez.
Last June 14, 2010, Victim Aldrin Baliton y Salvan, single, of legal age and a resident of Looc, Plaridel reported to the city police after his laptop worth P47,000 was carted away by one of the suspects who posed as client of his Starliz Developing Center located in Independence St., Poblacion 2, this city.
Baliton farther reported that while in his store two suspects entered his establishment to ask for some jobs but within a couple of minutes he noticed that his laptop was carted by the suspects and hurriedly left and took a ride in a white colored Starex Van bearing plate no. KEB-227 and fled towards Ozamis City.
With the incident, PNP –COP-Oroquieta City immediately dispatch flash alarm to neighboring PNP stations for the possible apprehension of the suspects and commanded PO2 Salingay and PO1 Egos to pursue the suspects and their get-away vehicle which was stopped in a joint chokepoint at Barangay Nailon, Tudela by the Municipal Police Station Tudela led by MPS COP P/SI Dionisio Lagas in coordination with the Regional PNP Mobile Group based at the said municipality under P/SI Robert Delos Reyes.
Six (6) Suspects inside the said van disembarked and scampered to escape, however, four (4) of them were collared by the responding police officers. The suspects were identified later as; (1) Driver Vicente Dais y Maisling, of Poblacion 2, Brgy. Tabo-o, Jimenez,(2) Elmer Gayola y Valeriano of Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City, (3) Nieves Chavez y Dedicatoria of Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, (4) Leo Florez y Mamaril of Brgy San Roque, Lawis, Ozamis City who was identified by the victim that carted his laptop but was taken by the other suspect who managed to escape.
The two(2) suspects who eluded arrest are now under hot pursuit by the PNP elements, while the getaway vehicle, Starex Van colored white with plate number KED-227 is now impounded with Oroquieta PNP Office of which some personal belongings, RTW’s , cell phones, and other items were recovered inside the said van.
