PNP faces public scrutiny of MC napping

Oroquieta City, MisOC – The Local PNP Office here in this city is now facing public scrutiny for the past months of rampant motorcycle-napping incidents even investigations had been implemented but to no avail, they faces a blank wall and crime is still unsolved.

Lately, another motorcycle-napping was reported to them, last June 15, Mr. Edwin Lumasag y Guingging, 50, married and a businessman living at Purok 4, Brgy Lower Lamac lost his Honda XRM color blue with plate number KO-4485 with chassis number XRM-053-037-037806 and engine number XRM110ME-703706 while parked at his residence and after an hour another motorcycle was reported stolen.

Another victim Sherelyn Paler y Calzado a teacher, and residence of Purok 6, Brgy Canubay reported to the police that her motorcycle Honda Wave 100 colored pink bearing plate number 8644JA parked along Charm Beauty Shop Building, Catane St this city while she was at the 2nd floor in the Kiichi Internet Café to do some transaction with the internet café and when she returned, said motorcycle was already gone and believed stolen by unidentified person/s.

The two latest victims of motorcycle-napping crave for police assistance to immediately solve the crime and to bring back their stolen motorcycles. With the incident, OCPO COP P/Superintendent Herbert Roces Olavidez immediately ordered an investigation and flashed reports to neighboring towns all over Misamis Occidental and other areas.

In an interview with www.onlinenews-mindanao.tk and BIRADA News Daily, COP Olavidez said that they are now on hot pursuit and investigation of the said cases of motorcycle-napping in his area of responsibility.

“Yes, it made our heads broke on how to cause apprehension of these elusive suspects; however our intelligence units are now eyeing on possible liars of the suspects. It is a syndicated group.
In our intelligence report received, there is now a far-flung barangay in the city which these suspects are hiding, we are now planning to how they will be captured and we are requesting everyone to help us in solving this crimes and suspect will be brought to justice.” He said.

Meanwhile, the OCPO is also responding to other police units who sought for its help in solving motorcycle-napping in their areas.

“Lately I received a fax message from P/CI Michael Palermo of the Pagadian City Police Office to help apprehend and capture this criminal elements, in his city alone 32 motorcycles are stolen and under investigation” P/Superintendent Olavidez added.

Crime is every body’s business; motorcycle-napping does not happen only in Oroquieta City but all over Mindanao and even in Luzon and the Visayas, this crimes can be solved only when people and the police work together to cause the arrest of all suspects who once in a while choose places to hide from the hands of the law. Helping the police is a better action than scrutinizing them in public for a crime unsolved. (PJTremedal, www.onlinenews-mindanao.tk/BND MisOC)
