The celebration started with an ecumenical service by the Oroquieta Council of Churches that asked God thru his son Jesus Christ its blessing for a joyous and historical celebration that achieving real freedom must came from him.
In his message, Mayor Almonte made emphasis on our independence from foreign hands that it should be appreciated by our young generation because of what had our heroes and forefathers had asserted to gain.
The City Mayor said in the vernacular.
