Beauty Contests: Fantasy of the sexes

Oroquieta City – It is sad to say that, beauty contest and especially their talents are not theirs but fantasies of their trainers or beauty consultants. It had been years of beauty pageant and talents nights are always conquered by fantasies of the third sexes, especially those trainers who are always crave for that they are the real woman.

Anywhere in the country yesterday and today, Homosexuals and even women themselves does not learn what really beauty is. Is it what the make-up or made-up, natural, or acquired? Like talents, there no such word as acquired talent. Talents are god given but never taught or learned.

But beauty pageants or any women beauty competitions, it is ruled silently by their own beauty consultants or trainers whom fantasies of theirs are imminent. That’s the reason why viewers or audiences usually mock them, laugh at them, and even judged them negatively because of the learned talents during talent competition.

Late this week, 13 beautiful ladies vying for the Ms. Talent award of the Miss Oroquieta-Tourism 2010 again show some fantasies and reality shows that some of them never learn, but some proved them worth in they were judged the nights Talent competition. When were they ever learned?

Some viewers were quoted saying: “Unsa man na uy, binayot man kayo!”.

However, those who were awarded by the 5 honorable judges who were experienced and trained by art groups and talent centers, or artist by themselves are those young ladies who do not accept that their trainers is much better than them. They had proved that their talents are theirs.

The Ms. Talent award of the Miss Oroquieta-Tourism was awarded to a young lady who performed a monologue depicting a “probinsyana” lad that was given a chance to compete and made herself into a singer, Ms. Daphne T. Uy, candidate no. 7 of the Oroquieta City Public market Federation of Small Business Club, Inc, as sponsor got the talent and win as Ms. Talent with 3-T cash Prize.

1st runner-up was awarded to, Ms. Kathleen Tumale, candidate no. 6 of the Mindanao University of Science and Technology who also performed a monologue acting like a real radio talent, a DJ, and a newscaster, and even a TV host and received the 2-T cash prize

Unfortunately, during the awarding of the 2nd runner-up, candidate no. 11 was called, but the emcee was wrong. “Sorry it is my mistake”, it was Ms. Mhel-Jorie S. Duhaylungsod, and candidate no. 8 of the Unified High School as sponsor was declared the winnerand received the 1.5-T cash prize.

In the Talent Night competition, Honorable Ruvy “Alay” Ala, who chaired the SP Committee on Tourism, opened the night saying a message to respect our women as they represent the city patron saint The Lady of the Holy Rosary, the search for Ms. Oroquieta-Tourism is one of the highlights of the fiesta celebration.

Other guests together with City Mayor Jason P. Almonte, Mrs. Aurora Virginia Almonte, wife of Congressman Jorge Almonte, as Chair-Adviser of the pageant, City SP Members led by City Vice mayor Harry Guantero, and other public officials and employee, and Oroquietanons witnessed and joyously enjoy the night.

The Board of Judges were composed of Ricky Calisic, Fernan Lanzaderas, Dexter Delagan, Sherlyn Pahayahay, and BOJ Chair Mr. Roberto Gonzales. The night’s criteria includes 40 % of reality, 25% personal talents,25% stage presence and 10% impact a total of 100% to be declared Ms. Talent of the 2010 Search for Miss Oroquieta-Tourism, the Ambassadress of Goodwill.
