Oroquieta City – With pride and honor as Sinulog of Cebu Hall of Famer, Tangub City again proves it’s might in cultural presentation both in street dancing and ritual competition during the 1st Pas’ungko S’g MisOCC Festival 2010 and dance away the 100-T cash prize and creative craftsmanship of the trophy as the champion of this year first ever cultural presentation.
Rain or shine as the festival and the 81st founding year celebration of Misamis Occidental moves on last November 4-8, 2010 people gathered in the capitol complex to visit and watch the daily shows to include a Jobs Fair, Agro-Trade Exhibits of the 17 local government units with their One Town, One product and other crafts and delicacies, Band Concerts, the search for the Mutia ng Misamis occidental, and Fireworks Display courtesy of the GO HERMIE Administration.
In the last day of its activites, Street Dancing completion depicting the Subanens of Misamis Occidental, beat and sound of ethnic instrument with the rhythm of the Subanen music and the dance form and step of 17 contingents roam the streets of Oroquieta with onlookers gathered around to see the first ever festival of Misamis Occidental.
A great success as the members of the Provincial Tourism Council had to say amidst some problems in the making, Mr. Gerard Hilarion Ramiro as chairman thanks all his A-Team, the local tourism councils with their tourism officials a job well done.
In the 1st Pas’ungko S’g MisOCC festival that literally means “Pasasalamat” in Subanen words is the first in Misamis occidental, Tangub City emerged as the champion of this year competition.
“This is a trial and error be a lessons to be experienced”, Mr. Ramiro said.
But with the GO HERMIE Agenda of the Honorable Governor Herminia M. Ramiro and the whole officialdom of Misamis Occidental this is a success.
“I thank all to those who in one or another committed themselves to be part of the momentous event in the history of Misamis Occidental, to our detractors in the political arena let bygones be bygones, we have to face this challenge for us and achieved what we have to achieved as public servants for the benefit of the people of Misamis Occidental, We are here to serve our people as we aspire for a peaceful and develop province of Northern Mindanao” Governor Hermie Ramiro said.
