The seventeen lovely ladies of Misamis occidental with the five finalist led by Ms. Calamba,MisOCC this year's Mutia ng Misamis Occidental

Oroquieta City – 18 years old, Ms. Ordep Mae V. Quiza of municipality of Calamba,Misamis Occidental was declared Mutia ng Misamis Occidental 2010 against 16 young lovely ladies in the competition revive by the Provincial Tourism Council under its chairman, Mr. Gerard Hilarion Ramiro.
The revival of the Mutia ng Misamis Occidental is very timely as the new administration opens the 81st Founding Anniversary of the province. The Mutia ng Misamis Occidental was supposed to be a yearly talent and beauty competition to become the Ambbasadress of Goodwill and promote the province tourism potentials, destinations and development, however sad to say, the last Mutia ng Misamis Occidental was nine years ago.
With the chairmanship and the re-engineered Provincial Tourism Council of the Governor Hermie Ramiro administration, Mutia ng Misamis Occidental was revived to help and support GO HERMIE Agenda, particularly the promotion of the 14 municipalities and three cities as one people, one province, and one vision.
As part and parcel of the celebration dubbed as 1st Pas’ungko S’g MisOCC Festival 2010, the first ever cultural event of the province, The Mutia ng Misamis Occidental indeed world class as it was greatly concerted, with great direction and great design were the province known cultural artists, fashion designer and even photography was tapped to be a success.
” If Camarines Sur can make it, why can’t Misamis Occidental be the next tourism destination” Mr. Gerard Ramiro said.
Last November 6, with guest artist Billy Joe Crawford the ABC Gym was jam packed with Oroquietanons and other audiences from the 14 municipalities and the three cities with the chief executives, SP’s, and invited guest witnessed the revival of the search for the Mutia ng Misamis Occidental 2010.
As the board of judges declared the five finalists, Ms. Ordep Mae V. Quiza of Calamba the most lovely and beautiful of them all was declared the Mutia ng Misamis Occidental 2010. Her court was joined by Ms. Oroquieta City, Ms. Sherline A Galit as 3rd runner-up, Ms. Bonifacio, Ms. Phoebe Jane Dela Cerna as 2nd runner-up, Ms. Ozamis City, Ms. Jean Margaret T. Tamparong as 1st runner-up and Ms. Baliangao, Ms. Glenyl O. Mejos as 4th runner-up.
