Oro hosted 4th BSP WM Regional Meeting

Camp Punta Blanca, Mobod, Oroquieta City- With the welcome messages of both father and son, Congressman Jorge Taghap Almonte, concurrent BSP Chairman for Misamis Occidental-Oroquieta Council and City Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte representative from the Western Mindanao- Boy Scout of the Philippines twelve (12) councils proudly clapped their hands fr the hosting of the Misamis Occidental-Oroquieta BSP Council this week at the camp.

The 4th BSP Western Mindanao Region conducted a two day Mid-year review and assessment and Regional Council Executives meeting to plan out this year’s BSP activities the Punta Blanca Camp.

As host council, the Misamis Occidental-Oroquieta City Council proudly and warmly serve the scout executives with good food and souvenirs compliments of the city government that will surely make them comeback for the future meetings.

Meanwhile, Governor Antonio H. Cerilles of Zamboanga de Sur who attended the meeting shared his ideas why scouting movement must be strongly recommended and participated to all growing and learning youths amidst the DepED resolution of collecting fees from parents.

Boy Scouting movement is a non-school activity but this is mandated by both the government and DepED that’s the reason this should be given priority to make the boys responsible when they grows up as citizens of this country.

Scouting is a movement that can make the young boys to become better and good citizens by joining and practice good values as they grow and become leaders of their own communities.

Meantime, the 4th BSP-WMR Regional Council Meeting is preparing for the two must awaited Scouting Activity, first is the 7th WMR Regional BSP Jamborrette that will be held in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay this coming September 22-25, 2011 and the upcoming 1st Mindanao BSDP Jamboree in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on November 23-27, 2011.

Congressman Jorge T, Almonte also proudly shared has commitment not only to the Misamis Occidental-Oroquieta BSP Council with his 1-million funding for the rehabilitation of Camp Punta Blanca from his PDAF but to the whole scouting movement.

“Scouting movement will be alive in my city” City Mayor Jason Paredes Almonte also shared on the participation of Oroquieta in the Boy Scout Movement.
